first of all i have to say i still have an ipod, iphone and all that stuff. i really enjoyed it. but today all the apple stuff become more and more the branding touch. you do not pay for function you pay for the name apple. i really hope that it will be change in the future again, so apple becomes a revolution of technology again.

I’m not saying that it’s a revolutionary device. It shares a lot of the features of the iPhone and iPod Touch, but I think the larger form factor will make a big difference. I know it will for me.

Still, since I don’t have an iPhone or iPod Touch, the iPad still looks good to me. I like the larger form factor for showing things to clients and the easy portability as compared to laptops.

Nothing is a good fit for everyone.

Sorry for the delay in responding.

I can understand how the iPad would not be something that would pique your interest.

About the only time I go out is to visit clients and I think the iPad would do a better job of letting me show them why they should work with me and how I’m helping them than using a laptop.

I don’t know; we’ll see. (grin)

It’ll be several months before they’re available and I probably won’t buy one of the first batch. I want to wait and see what others say, but I’m still interested and plan to get one. I’ll be happy to share my impressions and experiences with it.

Yes I too have watched the keynote speech and I am anxiously waiting in anticipation for the launch of the ipad. I must confess I don’t have any apple items in my household, but the Ipad may be the first.

I watched the presentation feed at the time and I agree that the device is slick and pretty. As for me, I don’t go out a lot, so I don’t see a reason for having another device to surf the web or check email or do word processing. I have a Kindle, which I love, so I don’t need the book reader. I guess it’s fortunate for Apple that I’m not an average consumer since, as cool-looking as it is, I won’t be buying.

Can’t wait to hear your report after you’ve received and used yours, though. Hope you love it as much as you think you will!

In addition to being able to use an iPad for most of my online work, I’m starting to realize what a great device it will be for Apple in regards to selling a variety of content to the people who purchase one.

I don’t think I’m part of that market segment, but I think the majority of people may be. After all, I believe that most people basically browse the web, send and receive email, listen to music, share photos, play games, and watch videos. I may be wrong, but that’s the impression I have.

In addition to iTunes and the apps store, Apple will be opening a new book store. That’s gotta add to Apple’s bottom line in a very good way.

I’m starting to think that the iPad will be a great device for consumers, while most producers will continue to use desktops or laptops for most of their work.

Now I’m starting to wish I didn’t sell my Apple stock a few years ago.

It sure looks like the iPad has the right features for the right price.

However, we won’t know for sure until we get one and see for ourselves if it lives up to the introduction.
