I find that enjoying what you do and the want and need to do better is great for motivation. If you are not enjoying it then the need and want tends to diminish after awhile.

As much as I want to succeed, I want to have fun along the way, especially when it comes to blogging.

Naturally, this isn't always possible when it comes to jobs etc. but then I have never stayed at a job for long that I actually hated.

I agree, sire.

It's much easier learning from someone else's mistakes than making all of them yourself.

One of the reasons I like to read these books is because my tired old brain isn't wired the same way most other people's brains are.

I can remember computer programming syntax for years, but I forget basic concepts about business that many people just take for granted.

For me, it really helps to read the best books I can find in order to remind me of the overall framework of what I'm doing - otherwise I tend to gravitate towards the technical details.

One of the things I'm working on now is creating an updated business plan and, more importantly, a detailed marketing plan.

I know that I need to refine my marketing funnel(s) and do less jumping around and creating new websites willy-nilly. So, I'm focusing more on business and less on some of the other things that have proven to be real distractions.

I also enjoy learning the back-story of people I have met online. I find it inspiring to read how other people succeeded, even if I wouldn't want to do what they did.

It helps motivate me to find my own path through this marketing jungle.

Act on your dream!

I suppose John, that apart from taking time out to relax a little, that some of these publications may well have a lot to offer in the way that we go about doing business on the net. Although some of it may be old hat, some things never change.

Also if the book portrays mistakes that the author has made along the way, this would more than likely help us in the way we conduct ourselves in our efforts to become more successful.
